The Sunshine Cafe, located in the County Resource Center is looking for new ownership and management to avoid being closed down.

The vendor and management for the Sunshine Café, which is located in the Citrus County Resource Center, will officially stop business at the end of the month. The Café will reopen once a new vendor takes over.

Amy Engelken, Operations Manager stated the County will be going out to bid for a new vendor.

The Resource Center is the hub for many senior programs and services, but it also houses other community programs and services, as well as the county’s Housing and Park and Recreation Department, the Veteran’s Clinic, the George A. Dame Community Health Center and Community Pharmacy.

In light of all that the center houses, the Community Services Division recognized an opportunity for a cafe to serve not only all the workers and the people who use the services and clinics, but the public, too, as both a place to eat and a facility to use in conjunction to leasing the Senior Patio for events.
