This morning, December 15th Facebook announced the release of their new profile called Timeline.

Time is the the social giant's new way of showing your information. Granted this change will anger many I for one have been looking forward to getting the changes.

At some point you will receive a notification at the top of your Facebook screen asking if you want to upgrade. Once you do that you will have seven days in order to get your new profile looking they way you want it. After the seven day wait period your new timeline will become active which is when everyone else will be able to see it. You may also publish it whenever you are ready. The Timeline will show you your life from today until birth. You will have the ability to feature or hide any aspect of your profile. Privacy controls will allow you to determine who can see each and every part of your page now.

Facebook engineers made the annoucment on the Today Show this morning and gave a brief tour of the Timeline. You may watch the video below.
